Couple engagement photos are one of my favorite ways to get to know my clients before their wedding day! I love when these sessions can offer an opportunity to showcase my clients’ love for one another, especially when that can be done in memorable or special places. Just like every couple is unique, every engagement session is unique, which is why I’m obsessed with creating interesting engagement photos (while of course, still getting all the classics)! Emma and Brayden’s downtown Minneapolis engagement session was a spontaneous and unforgettable journey, perfect for capturing authentic engagement photos. With no set plans, we explored the city’s chilly streets, letting it inspire us at every turn. From modern facades to historic brickwork, we discovered unique architectural details and dynamic lines that added depth and character to their photos. Their playful energy shone through as we made our way to the Foshay Tower, creating a stunning backdrop for their love story. The session beautifully showcased their connection while highlighting the city’s endless potential for breathtaking couple engagement photos.
Harleigh and TJ’s engagement session at a bar was nothing short of bold and captivating, perfectly capturing the essence of modern couple engagement photos. Inspired by dramatic contrasts and the edgy aesthetic of direct flash, their session was a blend of romance and high-fashion vibes. The dimly lit bar provided the ideal backdrop, with moody ambiance, glowing neon signs, and rich textures that really popped in their photos. Harleigh and TJ’s chemistry was electric, effortlessly shining through in every shot as they shared candid laughs and intimate moments. This session proved that unique locations can create unforgettable engagement photos full of personality and style.
Lauren and Austin’s engagement session in Stillwater was a beautiful reminder that sometimes nature sets the perfect tone. On a windy day by the river, instead of fighting the gusts, we embraced them, letting the wind add movement and romance to their couple engagement photos. Lauren’s hair and dress danced in the breeze, creating effortless, dreamlike moments that felt straight out of a storybook. Megan and Jake’s summer maternity session at Theodore Wirth Park took an unforgettable turn when Jake surprised Megan with a proposal, transforming the day into a celebration of love and new beginnings. The sunny, warm afternoon provided the perfect backdrop as the couple strolled through the park, surrounded by lush greenery and golden light. What began as a joyful maternity session quickly turned into capturing emotional and candid couple engagement photos as Jake got down on one knee. Megan’s surprise and pure happiness shone through in every frame, creating timeless memories of this incredible milestone in their journey together.
Sarah and Ben’s engagement session on Saint Anthony Main in Minneapolis was the perfect mix of laid-back and stylish, creating vibrant and authentic couple engagement photos. They wandered through the charming streets, discovering unique lines and pops of color in the historic architecture that added depth and character to their photos. A quick stop at FRGMT for coffee brought a cozy, candid vibe to the session, capturing their love for the little moments. With the fall breeze and city skyline as a backdrop, the day ended just in time to get Ben home for the Vikings game!
Jessica and David’s engagement session at Montissippi Park was nothing short of magical, especially with their adorable dog Cedar by their side. This spot, one of my favorite places for its towering pines, provided a dreamy backdrop for their photos. The golden sunlight filtered through the trees, creating a warm, ethereal glow that made every moment feel timeless. Cedar brought so much joy and personality to the session, adding playful and heartwarming touches to their engagement photos. Between the stunning natural setting and the love these three share, it was a session filled with beauty, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
Bridget and Max’s engagement session at Oakdale Nature Preserve was the perfect blend of cozy and fun, set against a stunning fall backdrop. We kicked things off with some hot chocolate, sharing laughs and chatting about their wedding plans while surrounded by vibrant autumn colors. The Preserve’s golden leaves and serene trails created a warm, picturesque setting for their couple engagement photos. Bridget and Max’s easygoing chemistry shone through in every frame, from playful moments to sweet, quiet glances. It was a session filled with love, laughter, and the beauty of Minnesota in the fall.
